The Queen of Cups is the Queen of water, and is receiving water from above into her cup. She sits upon the waters above the sign of cardinal water, which is Cancer. Cancers are the domesticated sign of the zodiac being represented by the crab that lives in its own shell. The cancer personality likes her home front, and garnishes home with lots of comforts, as well as knickknacks, and memorabilia. She is quiet, but silently concerned about what others think of her. She likes to feel needed, and is very maternal at heart, although she suffers from shyness. She’s a good cook, and a talented hostess. She may be manipulative to get what she wants. She is responsive to everything around her so she needs the security of her own familiar abode to calm her emotions.
